How one Cleveland family started a movement to help their neighbors in need.
Founded in 2023
Sometimes in life you need a helping hand
The Good Samaritan Project was born from a simple but powerful belief: that when we see a neighbor in need, we should act. Founded in 2023 in Cleveland, Ohio, GSP began as a grassroots effort to provide direct assistance to families facing hardship.
What started with blanket drives and small community collections has grown into a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving dozens of families across Greater Cleveland. We have raised over $5,000 and donated more than 30 blankets to families who needed warmth and comfort.
Today, we operate three core programs that address the diverse needs of our community, from supporting children facing challenges to providing emergency assistance for families in crisis. Every initiative is fueled by the generosity of people like you.

Kevin Burkett
Executive Director & Founder
Kevin Burkett founded The Good Samaritan Project in 2023 with a clear mission: to be the helping hand that Cleveland families need. Drawing from his own experiences and deep connection to the Cleveland community, Kevin has built GSP into an organization that makes a tangible difference in people's lives every day.
Under Kevin's leadership, GSP has grown from a small volunteer effort to a thriving nonprofit with multiple programs, an annual charity golf tournament, and a growing network of supporters committed to uplifting Cleveland families.
